A Passion for Integrity
Dr. Trevino is applying that integrity to develop and deliver an effective Chakshu drug that could treat millions. A chance to “play a role in the success of Chakshu’s exciting, innovative therapy” appealed to him.
Richard has a history of proving that his hands-on technical skills and his vast experience in the biopharmaceutical industry can lead to success. Chakshu clearly benefits from his extensive experience in Process Development, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology, and Quality Assurance/Control. He brings his veteran skills to Chakshu to ensure that all technical operations and quality are in place to create a smooth transition from drug development to market.
Lifework
Prior to joining Chakshu, Richard was the Director of Biologics Development at InterMune, Inc. where he managed the chemistry, manufacturing and controls of contract manufacturing organizations involved in the commercial manufacturing of an approved drug product. Prior to that, he was a senior scientist for Johnson & Johnson where he was responsible for developing and monitoring the manufacturing process for another newly approved drug product. He also served as the process scientist for ONYX Pharmaceuticals and as a Staff Scientist for Wyeth BioPharma developing robust manufacturing processes and managing technical operations.
Formal Education
Dr. Trevino received his B.A. in Microbiology at the University of Texas at Austin and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
