The Genesis

Arya Bhushan was legally blind. His son, Rajiv, grievously watched his father’s sight and independence diminish while the pain of his affliction increased. Arya was suffering from age-related vision loss which included cataracts, complicated with photophobia, and dry AMD. He was forced to wear dark glasses at all times because any presence of light caused him pain.

Communications became difficult. He could not tolerate light from a computer monitor nor a reading lamp. He could no longer see his phone pad, and he lost the independence of conducting everyday activities including visiting his physicians.

Rajiv became Arya’s eyes and his chauffeur and soon realized that both he and his father were experiencing diminishing quality of life.

Traditional treatments were ineffective which compounded their frustrations. Rajiv set out to take care of Arya—he, himself, would construct the path to restoring his father’s sight and alleviating his pain.

This he could do, because Rajiv is a voracious researcher, brilliant mathematician and an inherent alchemist. His scientific approach led him to multidisciplinary research that spans plant physiology, food biology, cardiology, cancer therapy, ophthalmology and biochemistry. Rajiv utilized his prior research and knowledge of oxidative stress to explore every avenue possible for the sake of his father’s health.

His discovery led him to the combination of two ingredients already Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS). Once he developed the right formulation, he treated his father. Within two weeks, Arya’s photophobia had reduced dramatically; he began reading and continued to improve for over a year.

Arya now leads a full and independent life...but the story doesn’t end here. Rajiv decided to share his discovery. He partnered with a very forward-thinking and experienced entrepreneur, Amit Goswamy, to explore the potential for his eye drop to address the leading cause of blindness in the world—degenerative ocular diseases.

And the rest is Chakshu history...
